Practice your
salary negotiation
before you have it.

Counteroffer is a voice roleplay coach for salary negotiations. Tell us your situation once — we generate the exact conversation you'll have with your manager, recruiter, or HR partner, then run it like a real meeting.

Your manager is speaking
How it works

Three steps from panicked to prepared.

01

Tell us your situation

Existing job or new offer. Title, market range, who you're negotiating with, what they've already said. Onboarding takes about three minutes.

02

We generate the roleplay

A specific scenario with a specific counterpart — a skeptical manager, a friendly recruiter, an HR partner running a script. Their voice, their objections, their tells.

03

Practice out loud, get notes

Speak naturally. We push back the way they will. After, you get a debrief: what landed, what to tighten, the line you should open with next time.

Real counterparts

Not a generic chatbot. The person across the table.

Each roleplay has a face, a job, a personality, and a goal that isn't yours. They'll dodge, low-ball, deflect to budget, mention a hiring freeze. You learn to hold your number without flinching.

  • Manager asking for a raise mid-cycle
  • Recruiter running a closing call on a new offer
  • HR partner walking you through "company policy"
  • Skip-level asking why you deserve more

Your Playbook

A personal curriculum
built around your ask.

Roleplays don't run alone. Onboarding builds you a Playbook — a personalized negotiation prep sheet — and a sequence of short lessons calibrated to your situation, your leverage, and what you've already practiced.

Read on the bus, practice in your kitchen, walk in prepared.

Track confidence over time. The day before the real meeting, you'll know what you're going to say.

Frequently asked

Questions before you download.

Can I practice for an existing job, or only new offers?
Both. Mid-cycle raise, promotion ask, retention counter, brand new offer, returning from leave — onboarding routes you to the right scenario.
How is this different from ChatGPT?
Voice-first, scenario-specific, and trained on negotiation patterns rather than general chat. The counterpart pushes back the way a real one will, and the debrief is calibrated to negotiation outcomes.
When is Android coming?
iOS first to keep the voice experience tight. Android is on the roadmap once we can match the audio quality.

Negotiate with confidence,
not stress.

Have it twenty times in private first. Walk in knowing exactly what you're going to say.
